This residence was conceived for renowned golfer HarmeetKahlon and his wife, Shalini, whose travels across Spain and Italy deeply influenced their aspirations for a home rooted in the spirit of countryside villas.

As passionate nature lovers and discerning art collectors, the clients envisioned a house that would seamlessly integrate landscape, architecture, and curated art within a coherent spatial narrative. The site, advantageously located with expansive views of the surrounding hills, became a critical driver of the design. The central architectural intent was to dissolve the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing daily activities and social functions to flow naturally across spaces.
This was achieved through a series of carefully articulated elements: deep verandahs that mediate between interior and landscape, a patio extending from the formal dining area, a skylight animating the double-height living space with shifting patterns of light, and a terrace garden that reinforces the connection to nature. The project also provided an opportunity to research and reinterpret the spatial planning, proportions, and detailing of Spanish architecture, adapted thoughtfully to the local context.
The completed house closely reflects the personality, lifestyle, and values of its owners. Equally significant was the collaborative process, which resulted in a rare and rewarding synergy between architect and client, culminating in a residence that is both personal and enduring.
